Our Beliefs:
We believe in One God, manifested in Three Persons; the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, each equal yet distinctive.
We believe that the Holy Spirit fills, guides, convicts, empowers, and gives gifts to all believers who "call on the name of the Lord to be saved."
We believe that responsible, conscientious people should "live simply, so that others may simply live."
We believe that every human is created in the image of God and is valuable. We therefore oppose abortion, all forms of slavery, injustice, prejudice, violence, and abuse. We believe any person who draws breath has the opportunity to repent, turn to the Lord and to be saved; therefore we also oppose the death penalty and the damage of war.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers. We therefore expect and encourage all members to use their God-given gifts, skills, financial and material resources, and talents for the Church, both local and global.
We believe that each person must make his or her own decision to deny the self, take up the cross, and follow Christ. We therefore practice Believer's Baptism, according to Jesus' example and the historical practice of the Church of the Brethren. Only a person who is mature enough to make a personal decision to follow Christ is to undergo water baptism as a symbol of a commitment to live for Christ and live out that faith as a member of a local faith community.
We believe that the Bible is true and relevant. As we hold no particular, historic creed, we look to the New Testament as our “creed” and as our rule of faith and practice.
