A Life In Christ - Mission/Vision/Beliefs
A Life In Christ - Living the Good Life! 239-772-0800, info@havealifeinchrist.com

adopted the following Mission, Vision, and Beliefs Statements on April 5, 2009.

Our Mission:To reach out to people of any age in the Cape Coral community and beyond with hearts of compassion, hands in service, thoughts in prayer, and mouths speaking the message of the freeing grace of Jesus Christ.
Our Vision:
To offer public opportunities for worship, prayer, Bible study, and outreach...
To help our local community, reach out to the needy and lonely, and continue to host our annual Easter Sunrise service at the Yacht Club Beach...
To build relationships with the people who worship at the church; we believe that disciples of Jesus Christ best accomplish the great commission when they worship and work with other Christians in a local faith community...
To uphold the policies, teachings, and historical values of the Church of the Brethren, the denomination with which we are gladly affiliated.

Our Beliefs:
We believe in One God, manifested in Three Persons; the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, each equal yet distinctive.
We believe that the Holy Spirit fills, guides, convicts, empowers, and gives gifts to all believers who "call on the name of the Lord to be saved."
We believe that responsible, conscientious people should "live simply, so that others may simply live."
We believe that every human is created in the image of God and is valuable. We therefore oppose abortion, all forms of slavery, injustice, prejudice, violence, and abuse. We believe any person who draws breath has the opportunity to repent, turn to the Lord and to be saved; therefore we also oppose the death penalty and the damage of war.
We believe in the priesthood of all believers. We therefore expect and encourage all members to use their God-given gifts, skills, financial and material resources, and talents for the Church, both local and global.
We believe that each person must make his or her own decision to deny the self, take up the cross, and follow Christ. We therefore practice Believer's Baptism, according to Jesus' example and the historical practice of the Church of the Brethren. Only a person who is mature enough to make a personal decision to follow Christ is to undergo water baptism as a symbol of a commitment to live for Christ and live out that faith as a member of a local faith community.
We believe that the Bible is true and relevant. As we hold no particular, historic creed, we look to the New Testament as our “creed” and as our rule of faith and practice.
